Don't do like this
Who wants to listen to me will come to the theatre
Many artists, aware of the fact that a recording, all the more if played with normal PC speaker, does not do justice to their voices, refuse to broadcast audio/video samples of the works. Basically, this thought is correct from the viewpoint of artistic purism, yet it is mortifying for the artist's promotion...

Who are you?

Examine my resumé in detail.

Why can't I see your website as a singer?

I am insistently present on the Internet under many forms, but I am not proposing myself as a singer in the traditional sense, simply because I am still under vocal training.

Only as a proof of my experience in website building, I list my websites. Most of them are in Japanese only.

Official website as an artist http://www.stefanolodola.com
Personal website http://www.stefano.jp
Page of my show http://show.stefanolodola.com
Page of my lectures http://kouen.stefanolodola.com
Page of my fan club http://club.stefanolodola.com
Page of my fan club newsletter http://vivere.stefanolodola.com
Website of Italian pronunciation for singing http://www.utanohatsuon.it

How long does it take to build a website?

Excluding the time for providing me audio/video material, you may expect a complete, working site, open to public in a month from the order. Promotional activities that are beyond simple website building can be carried on over time..

How can I know how much your worked?

I will keep you informed on work progress and on completion I will show you a report with the work-hours spent on each operation.

How much does it cost to make a website?

It depends on the scale of the job (the condition of multimedia material you provide, languages used, etc.) but for a website like www.giacomoprestia.com (working and complete with all contents) you can expect an expense of 1000.00 to 2000.00 euro.
In the quote I will estimate the work-hours necessary for each operation.

How and when should I pay?

You may pay online with credit card through Paypal. It is easy and safe. I will send you an email with a link to the payment page. Also bank transfers are accepted.
I will ask you 100,00 euro at the time or ordering. The bill will be settled on completion. In case of jobs to be carried on over time, I will ask for a periodical payment for the time spent on the job.

What if I don't like the website?

At the beginning of the job, I will show you a demo page to choose the style of your website. Once the style is decided, I will continue adding contents to pages. Howevr, minor changes are always possible during the job.
Should you still be dissatisfied with my work, you may cancel the order without expenses.

Do you only work for singers?

I accept inquiries not only from singers but generally from classical musicians.

Who wants to listen to me will come to the theatre

Many artists, aware of the fact that a recording, all the more if played with normal PC speaker, does not do justice to their voices, refuse to broadcast audio/video samples of the works. Basically, this thought is correct from the viewpoint of artistic purism, yet it is mortifying for the artist's promotion. A manager would say that "you are not customer-oriented). Simply speaking, you are missing chances.

Omitting audio (and video) from a singer's website means depriving visitors of the most important assessment criterium. It is like a painter's website with his pictures. For example this:
http://www.robertominera.it/opere.asp
Without the "works" section, what would it be for? One would not even know the style or the subjects of his paintings.
The preference for live performance is out of question, as a picture touches more from in from of one's eye than when seen in a photo, but how can we expect them to become interested in listening to you in theatre when their only incentives are some pictures and a biography?

Beside that, the website is viewable all around the world: even if someone wanted to go and listen to you, probably he or she would not be able to, unless waiting for long times or doing long-range trips.
Many opera lovers devour videos on Youtbe and, if the visitor is one of those who frequent theatres, for him or her video and audio clips are not a substitute for live performance - on the contrary it arouses interest in it and the artist.
If the audio files you offer on your website is good enough to sell in CD, why shouldn't it sound good (nowadays connection speed permits to keep files in CD quality) to those who download them from your website?
And so far we have dealth with common visitors. Think about when you or your agent will send links to your websites as references to propose you to organizations (theatres, foreign agencies..) who: might not know you (although it can be hard to acknowledge); even if they knew the name they might not have a recent idea of your voice; even if they themselves were convinced they mighy want to present your clips to a co-worker.

Brutally speaking, a singer's website without his or her voise is like that of a painter without pictures or of a writer without excerpts: it lacks impacts, it doesn't arouse interest and is soon forgotten.

Let's say that searching your name on Google a visitor found your website, possibly some articles about you, but with no audio. From there he knows that you are a tenor, that you studied under teacher X, that you have sung at theatre Y. All this information is valid, but it leaves out what counts most: your vocal skills (together with acting, which is also assessable on video, etc.).
For him, you would be A tenor, that's all. For a potential spectator, it is not enough to entice him to listen to your live performance. For a potential job offerer, it is not enough to propose you a role (and don't expect them to approach you to request a sample).
Insted, after listening to you, you become THE tenor who sings the way you sing, who acts the way you act. This is what they want to know.

Another question is whether the clips available on other Internet sources are not thos you wish them to be, but that is just reason why you should make a website, select matarial and provide it by yourself: to take control over your image.
